Vienna, Austria, 25.9.2021. Robert Perc, JJEU President, elected to the EFPM Executive Committee
The Congress and General Assembly of the European Fair Play Movement (EFPM) took place in Vienna on 24 and 25 of September. The final act of the annual General Assembly were elections of the new President and eight members of the Executive Board.
Philippe Housiaux from Belgium was elected as a new EFPM President and JJEU President Robert Perc was elected as a member of the new Executive Board.
In the presentation of the candidature Robert Perc described decades of cooperation in the field of Fair Play which columnated with a Memorandum of Understanding between JJEU and EFPM, signed in Paris, France, on 27 of April 2019. Members of the EFPM Executive Board in the were also late Christian Blareau from France (former JJEU President and Honorary member of the EFPM) and Olympian Miroslav Cerar from Slovenia (former EFPM Vice President and Honorary member). To commemorate Christian Blareau impact on Fair Play movement in ju-jitsu a “Christian Blareau Fair Play Award ” was established in 2019 for excellence in ethics and Fair Play.
In the final act of the General Assembly of the EFPM Robert Perc awarded a special recognition to Christian Hinterberger and Miroslav Cerar, founding members of the EFPM for their impact on Fair Play development, their support and with respect to their values and principles.
EFPM, a non-governmental and non-profit organisation, working under the patronage of the European Olympic Committees (EOC), was established on May 27, 1994, in Zurich. Fourteen founding members committed themselves in promotion of Fair Play and Tolerance in sport and everyday life. EFPM has 41 corporate members, 19 associated members (including JJEU), supporting members and 13 honorary members.
