Christian Blareau (1951-2011)Christian_Blareau

With great sadness, we must announce the death of Christian Blareau after a long fighting against the illness.

Christian Blareau was born in 1951. He obtained in 1975 his Ph.D. in History from the University of Paris and also obtained Master degrees in geography and sports law, economy and sports organization management. From 1991 to 1999, he was a professor of sports law, economy and management at the National Institute of Sports and Physical Education (INSEP) and at the same time he was the director of their continuing education program. Since 1999 he has worked for the Minister of Health as a professor preparing future teachers for the national sports exam in various disciplines. He also teaches sports law, economy and management at the University of Evry and Paris. M. Blareau was a former Judo National Champion (1982). He obtained his black belt 6th dan in 2011. He has taught judo and been a member of the jury for the National exam.

He was an international judge and referee for Jujitsu and has been elected as President for the Ju-jitsu European Union and he served our Federation until Monday with respect and decency, he offered to Jujitsu development only positive work and he was a strong supporter of all Jujitsu values.

We had pleasure of knowing him and working with him. Just a few weeks ago at the European Championship in Maribor he shared with all of us his sports values and ethics of martial arts. May everyone find comfort in results of his work and keep memory of his friendship alive.

He will be greatly missed as a world member of martial arts community and a good friend. We express our deepest feelings of sympathy to Christian’s family.

Christian BLAREAU’s funeral will be held on Friday, July 29th 2011 at 9 am at the Funeral place of Champigny sur Marne, and then the final tribute will be returned for him. Funeral’s Address: 480, avenue Maurice Thorez - 94500 Champigny-sur-Marne, Paris.
